Description
12 (S) -HETE is the 12-lipoxygenase metabolite of arachidonic acid and has a mitogenic effect on cancer cell proliferation. 12 (S) -HETE induces tyrosine phosphorylation of cellular proteins, promotes ERK and P38 MAPK phosphorylation, increases DNA synthesis, and stimulates the proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells[1][2].
