Description
The mGluR7 Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor mGluR7 protein expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of mGluR7 in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on mGluR7.
Synonyms
Metabotropic glutamate receptor 7; mGluR7; GRM7; GPRC1G; MGLUR7
Gene Name
GRM7
UniProt
Q14831
Reactivity
Human, Mouse, Rat
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in many areas of the brain, especially in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, and cerebellum. Expression of GRM7 isoforms in non-neuronal tissues appears to be restricted to isoform 3 and isoform 4.
Applications
ELISA
Sample Type
Cell lines
Detection Range
> 5000 cells/well
Function
G-protein coupled receptor for glutamate. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase. Signaling inhibits adenylate cyclase activity.
Molecular Weight
102251 MW
