Description
16 (S) -HETE is a stereospecific cytochrome P450 metabolite of arachidonic acid implicated in renal electrolyte regulation. It potently inhibits Na+/K+-ATPase activity in proximal tubules and is released in response to angiotensin II, making it a valuable tool for studying renal transport physiology in vitro and hypertensive mechanisms in vivo.
