P21 Cip1 (Phospho-Thr145) Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

  • Description:

The p21 Cip1 (Phospho-Thr145) Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor p21 Cip1 (Phospho-Thr145) protein expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of p21 Cip1 (Phospho-Thr145) in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on p21 Cip1 (Phospho-Thr145) .
  • Synonyms:

    Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1; CDK-interacting protein 1; Melanoma differentiation-associated protein 6; MDA-6; p21; CDKN1A; CAP20, CDKN1, CIP1, MDA6, PIC1, SDI1, WAF1
  • Gene Name:

    CDKN1A
  • UniProt:

    P38936
  • Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat
  • Tissue Specificity:

Expressed in all adult tissues, with 5-fold lower levels observed in the brain.
  • Applications:

    ELISA
  • Detection Range:

    > 5000 cells/well
  • Function:

May be involved in p53/TP53 mediated inhibition of cellular proliferation in response to DNA damage. Binds to and inhibits cyclin-dependent kinase activity, preventing phosphorylation of critical cyclin-dependent kinase substrates and blocking cell cycle progression. Functions in the nuclear localization and assembly of cyclin D-CDK4 complex and promotes its kinase activity towards RB1. At higher stoichiometric ratios, inhibits the kinase activity of the cyclin D-CDK4 complex. Inhibits DNA synthesis by DNA polymerase delta by competing with POLD3 for PCNA binding (PubMed:11595739) .
