Chitotriose trihydrochloride is an orally active chitooligosaccharide with antioxidant activity, demonstrated by its inhibition of hydroxyl radical formation (IC50 = 80 μM) . It also acts as a competitive lysozyme inhibitor, reducing constitutive lysozyme production in macrophages, making it useful for research in inflammation and oxidative stress models.
