Description
Integrin alpha 6, also called VLA-6, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ITGA6 gene. Integrins are integral cell-surface proteins composed of an a chain and a b chain. A given chain may combine with multiple partners resulting in different integrins. For example, a6 may combine with b4 in the integrin referred to as TSP180, or with b1 in the integrin VLA-6. Integrins are known to participate in cell adhesion as well as cell-surface mediated signalling. Integrin alpha-6/beta-1 is a receptor for laminin on platelets. Integrin alpha-6/beta-4 is a receptor for laminin in epithelial cells and it plays a critical structural role in the hemidesmosome.
-
Immunogen
An amino acid sequence from the N-terminus of human ITGA6 (FNLDTREDNVIRKY) was used as the immunogen for this Integrin alpha 6 antibody.
-
Storage
After reconstitution, the Integrin alpha 6 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
-
Additional description
The Anti-Integrin alpha 6 is a α- or alpha protein sometimes glycoprotein present in blood.
-
Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by NJS poly they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
