Recombinant Human GDNF
- Description: Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) is a disulfide-linked homodimeric glycoprotein that belongs to the TGF-β superfamily. It has been shown to promote the survival of different subpopulations of neurons in both the central and peripheral nervous systems at various stages of development. Human GDNF cDNA encodes a 211 amino acid precursor, which is processed to produce the dimeric protein. Mature human GDNF is expected to contain two subunits, each with 134 amino acid residues. Cells known to express GDNF include supporting cells, type I astrocytes, Schwann cells, neurons, pinealocytes, and skeletal muscle cells. Mutations in this gene may be associated with congenital megacolon. Recombinant Human GDNF is expressed by E.coli, and is produced with raw materials of pharmaceutical applicable level. The host protein residue, nucleic acid residue and common pathogens are strictly controlled, and the production and quality management procedures of the product comply with GMP regulations to ensure the traceability of the production process and all raw materials.
