  A 50 x concentration of TAE (Tris-Acetate-EDTA) Buffer contains: 2 M Tris 0.05 M EDTA 1 M Acetic Acid TAE is an extensivley used buffer for agarose gel electrophoresis applications requiring high resolution and separation of high molecular weight, double-stranded DNA. TAE Buffer is more compatible with in-gel manipulations and band recovery procedures than TBE Buffer.
