Description
Rabbit polyclonal to KRT2.Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 2 epidermal (KRT2) belongs to the intermediate filament family. It is aheterotetramer of two type I and two type II keratins. KRT2 probably contributes to terminalcornification. It is associated with keratinocyte activation, proliferation and keratinization. KRT2 isexpressed in the upper spinous and granular suprabasal layers of normal adult epidermal tissues.Defects in KRT2 are a cause of ichthyosis bullosa of Siemens (IBS) .
