NNOS Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

  • Description:

The nNOS Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor nNOS protein expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of nNOS in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on nNOS.
  • Synonyms:

Nitric oxide synthase, brain;1.14.13.39; Constitutive NOS; NC-NOS; N
  • Gene Name:

    NOS1
  • UniProt:

    P29475
  • Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat
  • Tissue Specificity:

Isoform 1 is ubiquitously expressed: detected in skeletal muscle and brain, also in testis, lung and kidney, and at low levels in heart, adrenal gland and retina. Not detected in the platelets. Isoform 3 is expressed only in testis. Isoform 4 is detected in testis, skeletal muscle, lung, and kidney, at low levels in the brain, but not in the heart and adrenal gland.
  • Applications:

    ELISA
  • Detection Range:

    > 5000 cells/well
  • Function:

Produces nitric oxide (NO) which is a messenger molecule with diverse functions throughout the body. In the brain and peripheral nervous system, NO displays many properties of a neurotransmitter. Probably has nitrosylase activity and mediates cysteine S-nitrosylation of cytoplasmic target proteins such SRR.
  • Molecular Weight:

    160970 MW
  • Shipping Conditions:

    Available
  • Storage Conditions:

Store at 4°C for up to 6 months.
  • Other Gene Names:

    Nitric oxide synthase, brain
  • Subcellular Location:

Cell membrane, sarcolemma; Peripheral membrane protein. Cell projection, dendritic spine. In skeletal muscle, it is localized beneath the sarcolemma of fast-twitch muscle fiber by associating with the dystrophin glycoprotein complex. In neurons, enriched in dendritic spines (By similarity) .
