CCR5 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

  • Description:

The CCR5 Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor CCR5 protein expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of CCR5 in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on CCR5.
  • Synonyms:

    C-C CKR-5; C-C chemokine receptor type 5; CC-CKR-5; CCR-5; CD195 antigen; CHEMR13; CKR5; CMKBR5; HIV-1 fusion co-receptor; MIP-1 alpha receptor
  • Gene Name:

    CCR5
  • UniProt:

    P51681
  • Reactivity:

    Human
  • Tissue Specificity:

Highly expressed in spleen, thymus, in the myeloid cell line THP-1, in the promyeloblastic cell line KG-1a and on CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells. Medium levels in peripheral blood leukocytes and in small intestine. Low levels in ovary and lung.
  • Applications:

    ELISA
  • Sample Type:

    Cell lines
  • Detection Range:

    > 5000 cells/well
  • Function:

Receptor for a number of inflammatory CC-chemokines including MIP-1-alpha, MIP-1-beta and RANTES and subsequently transduces a signal by increasing the intracellular calcium ion level. May play a role in the control of granulocytic lineage proliferation or differentiation. Acts as a coreceptor (CD4 being the primary receptor) for HIV-1 R5 isolates.
