O-Propargyl-puromycin

• Description: O-Propargyl-puromycin (OPP) is cell-permeable alkyne analog of the protein synthesis inhibitor puromycin (Cat. No. 1860) that efficiently incorporates into newly translated proteins in complete methionine-containing media. The resulting truncated C-terminal alkyne labeled proteins can subsequently be detected via Cu(I)-catalyzed click chemistry reaction that links it to a fluorescently tagged azide molecule. Thus, OPP provides a fast, sensitive, and non-radioactive method for the detection of protein synthesis using fluorescence microscopy, high-content imaging, or flow cytometry.
