(rac) -Methyl-6-gingerol (Compound 14) is the racemate of Methyl-6-gingerol. Methyl-6-gingerol is an antibiotic that can be isolated from Aframomum melegueta. Methyl-6-gingerol exhibits anti-mycobacterial activity by inhibiting the efflux of toxins within Mycobacterium species[1].
