IP-10 Recombinant Protein

  • Background:

IP-10 is a CXC chemokine that signals through the CXCR3 receptor. IP-10 selectively chemoattracts Th1 lymphocytes and monocytes, and inhibits cytokine-stimulated hematopoietic progenitor cell proliferation. Additionally, it is angiostatic and mitogenic for vascular smooth muscle cells. Recombinant rat IP-10 is an 8.6 kDa protein consisting of 77 amino acids including the four conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines.

Reconstituted IP-10 is stable for at least 3 months when stored in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20˚ C. As with any protein, exposing IP-10 recombinant protein to repeated freeze / thaw cycles is not recommended. When working with proteins care should be taken to keep recombinant protein at a cool and stable temperature.
