Background:
KHK is a ketohexokinase that catalyzes conversion of fructose to fructose-1-phosphate. The product of this gene is the first enzyme with a specialized pathway that catabolizes dietary fructose.KHK encodes the gene ketohexokinase that catalyzes conversion of fructose to fructose-1-phosphate.
