Description
SMase-IN-1 (Compound 4) is a small molecule inhibitor of bacterial sphingomyelinase (IC50 = 6.43 μM vs. B. cereus) and eqBuChE. It functions via bio-metal interaction with Cu2+ and inhibits bacterial toxin-induced hemolysis, making it a useful research tool for studying microbial pathogenesis and toxin neutralization in vitro.
