Description
ESI1 is a small molecule epigenetic inhibitor that triggers SREBP1/2 nuclear aggregation to co-opt transcriptional co-activators, upregulating lipid and cholesterol biosynthesis. It has demonstrated pro-myelination activity in vivo, promoting remyelination in animal models of demyelination and supporting axon regeneration, which correlates with improved cognitive function in aged models.
