Description
Prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) is an enzymatically derived prostaglandin with a short in vivo half-life. Its decomposition product, Δ12-PGD2, is a key intermediate in the formation of the bioactive cyclopentenone Δ12-PGJ2. This compound is used in research to study inflammation, cancer biology, and prostaglandin metabolism pathways in both cellular and animal models.
