Brevetoxin-3 (PbTx-3) is a neurotoxin that binds with high affinity to site 5 on voltage-gated sodium channels, acting as a potent allosteric activator to inhibit channel inactivation. It is widely used in neuroscience research to study sodium channel function and pharmacology in both in vitro electrophysiology and in vivo models of neurotoxicity.
