Description
Brevetoxin B is a marine polyketide neurotoxin from Karenia dinoflagellates that binds with high affinity (IC50 ~15 nM) to site 5 of voltage-gated sodium channels, causing persistent activation. It is a key tool for channel pharmacology research and is used in studies of neurotoxic shellfish poisoning, ichthyotoxicity, and neuronal excitability in vitro.
