PF-04859989 HCl is a brain-penetrant, irreversible inhibitor of kynurenine aminotransferase II (KAT II), the primary enzyme for cerebral kynurenic acid synthesis. This tool compound is used in neuroscience research to study the KAT II pathway in models of psychiatric and neurological disorders, both in vitro and in vivo.
