Description
Fosfomycin calcium is a broad-spectrum antibiotic capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier. It acts by irreversibly inhibiting MurA, an enzyme critical for the initial step of bacterial cell wall biosynthesis. This mechanism supports its research applications in studying bacterial infections, including in vitro susceptibility testing and in vivo models of CNS and systemic infections.
