Gamma-tocotrienol is a tocotrienol that is chroman-6-ol substituted by methyl groups at positions 2, 7 and 8 and a farnesyl chain at position 2. A vitamin E family member that has potent anti-cancer properties against a wide-range of cancers. It has a role as an antioxidant, an antineoplastic agent, a hepatoprotective agent, a radiation protective agent, an apoptosis inducer and a plant metabolite. It is a vitamin E and a tocotrienol.
