Description
Paltusotine is an orally bioavailable, nonpeptide small molecule agonist of the somatostatin type 2 (SST2) receptor. It is used in research to investigate the pharmacological control of growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) levels, relevant for acromegaly studies in both in vitro and in vivo models.

Paltusotine

Paltusotine is a selective somatostatin receptor agonist: It mimics the biological actions of endogenous somatostatin, which activates the somatostatin 2 receptor (SST2) to block the secretion of growth hormone (GH) and decreases the production of growth-promoting insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). Paltusotine exhibits high affinity and selectivity towards SST2. Paltusotine was approved by the FDA on September 25, 2025 for the treatment of acromegaly in adults.
