1F8 Chagas Recombinant Protein

  • Description:

Recombinant Chagas 1F8 protein (Epitope of the flagellar calcium-binding protein FCABP of Trypanosoma cruzi) produced in E. coli, is a polypeptide chain having a total of 234 a.a (includes his tag) . The protein is fused to a 6-His tag having a total Mw of 25.8kDa and a theoretical pI of 5.39. Applications: Reacts with sera from infected patients. Useful for immunoassays.
  • Synonyms:

    Flagellar calcium-binding protein; FCABP;1F8 protein;24 kDa antigen;29 kDa flagella protein; ALC-1 antigen; F29; P24; FCABP
  • Gene Name:

    FCABP
  • UniProt:

    P07749
  • Source:

    Escherichia coli
  • Purification:

Protein is greater than 90% pure as determined by SDS PAGE.
  • Reconstitution:

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized 1F8 Chagas protein in sterile distilled pyrogen free water at 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
  • Function:

May contribute to the rapid motility of the trypanosomes, playing a role either in flagellar structure or in calcium metabolism. Could alternate between a GDP-bound inactive form to a calcium/GTP-bound active form.
  • Shipping Conditions:

    Available
  • Storage Conditions:

Store lyophilized 1F8 Chagas antigen at 2-8°C. After reconstitution, store at -20°C. Prevent freeze/thaw cycles.
  • Other Gene Names:

    Flagellar calcium-binding protein
  • Subcellular Location:

    Cell projection, cilium, flagellum.
