Gene infoIL-6 is reported to be produced by fibroblasts, activated T cells, activated monocytes or macrophages and endothelial cells. It acts upon a variety of cells including fibroblasts, myeloid progenitor cells, T cells, B cells and hepatocytes. In addition, IL-6 appears to interact with IL2 in the proliferation of T lymphocytes. IL-6 potentiates the proliferative effect of IL3 on multipotential hematopoietic progenitors.

PurityAnti-mIL-6 specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
-
Ab raised inRabbit
-
TypePolyclonal
-
AntigenProduced from sera of rabbits pre-immunized with highly pure (>98%) recombinant mIL-6 (murine IL-6).
-
Immuno applicationELISA, Western Blot
-
Antibody adviceELISA:To detect mIL-6 by direct ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.15 - 0.30 ug/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of at least 0.2 ng/well of recombinant mIL-6. Sandwich:To detect mIL-6 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25 - 1.0 ug/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with our Polyclonal Anti-Murine IL-6 (XP-5194) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant mIL-6.Western Blot:To detect mIL-6 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 ug/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant mIL-6 is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
-
Keep atIL-6 antibody is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 grades C. The reconstituted antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-8 grades C. Frozen aliquots are stable for at least 6 months when stored at -20 grades C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
