• Description:

  Hamster Chinese ovary. Derived from parent line CHO-K1. Cells were exposed to increasing concentrations of compactin over 8 months. During this exposure the level of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase synthesis increased 500-fold. The enzyme controls cholesterol synthesis.
