• Background: Fenitrothion is an insecticide belonging to the group of organophosphothioates. It is found on fruits, vegetables and in the environment. Application is also in the storage of grain products. It has adverse effects on algae and mammals due to its biological activity as acetylcholine esterase inhibitor. In water organisms it may have and endocrine (thyroidal) effect.

• Assay Principle: Dilution of 1/10,000 from the delivered solution. (The titer is defined as the dilution that gives 50 % of the maximum absorbance when tested with ELISA). Sµggested concentration to use in ELISA: 1/10,000 from the delivered solution. Plates are coated with 400 ng/mL OVA-conjµgated fenitrothion. HRP-conjµgated anti-chicken-IgG as a tracer 1/8,000.
• Form: Each vial contains 1 mL 5 mg/mL of purified (PEG) polyclonal IgY antibody in 0,1 M PBS pH 7,2 containing 0,02% sodium azide
