DKW Medium w/ Vitamins
- Description: DKW medium is also known as Driver and Kuniyuki Walnut medium. The media was originally developed for walnut micropropagation using nodal explant. Notably, DKW medium contains lower nitrogen and higher sulfate content, potentially influencing plant growth and development.

- Assay Protocol: Follow the steps below to prepare 1 liter of tissue culture media using DKW media: Take a beaker and add 800 ml of distilled water to it. To the water add 5.36 grams of PCT’s DKW Media, 30 grams of sugar, and PPM™ (generally 1-2 ml/L). Make up the volume of the media to 1000ml. Adjust the pH of the media between 5.4-5.8. Add gelling agent (agar 6-8 g/L or gellan gum 3-4 g/L) to the media and keep stirring. Autoclave the medium for 20 minutes at 15 psi and 121°C. Your media is ready!

- Storage Conditions: Dehydrated plant tissue culture media is hygroscopic and should be protected from sunlight and moisture. Store the prepared medium at 2-8°C away from direct light. Medium should be used before the expiry date. The entire volume of each bottle should be used immediately after opening, or else the unused portion should be stored in desiccators and refrigerated at 2-8°C.
