PDE1A, GST-tag Recombinant
Background:
Phosphodiesterases (PDEs) play an important role in the dynamic regulation of second messenger signaling. PDE1 is a subfamily of PDEs involved in the hydrolysis of cAMP to cGMP, composed of three members: PDE1A, PDE1B and PDE1C. They differ in their expression pattern and affinity towards cAMP and cGMP. PDE1 are calcium and calmodulin dependent PDEs and PDE1A1 is found in the lung and heart. PDE1 has been linked to pulmonary arterial hypertension, obesity, and diabetes, cardiovascular and neurocognitive diseases, and cancer. PDE1A1 is believed to regulate vascular smooth muscle contraction and may play a role in sperm function. The use of inhibitors to PDE1A1 may prove highly beneficial for the treatment cancer, metabolic, cardiovascular, and pulmonary disorders.Description:
Recombinant human PDE1A (phosphodiesterase 1A) variant 1 (also known as PDE1A1), encompassing amino acids 1-545 (end) . The construct contains an N-terminal GST-tag. This protein was affinity purified. This product has beencited 13 times.UniProt:
