Mouse FABP2 ELISA Kit PicoKine®
Background:
Fatty acid-binding protein 2 (FABP2), also known as Intestinal-type fatty acid-binding protein (I-FABP) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FABP2 gene. The intracellular fatty acid-binding proteins (FABPs) belong to a multigene family with nearly twenty identified members. FABPs are divided into at least three distinct types, namely the hepatic-, intestinal- and cardiac-type. Using a human cDNA probe for in situ hybridization studies, they regionalized the assignment to 4q28-q31. The intestinal form of FABP was mapped to mouse chromosome 3 between the amylase and alcohol dehydrogenase-3 loci. Also, they may be responsible in the modulation of cell growth and proliferation.Description:
Mouse FABP2 ELISA Kit PicoKine® (96 Tests) . Quantitate Mouse Fabp2 in cell culture supernatants, serum and plasma (heparin, EDTA) . Sensitivity: 10pg/ml. The brand Picokine indicates this is a premium quality ELISA kit. Each Picokine kit delivers precise quantification, high sensitivity, and excellent reproducibility. Only our most reliable and effective kits qualify as Picokine, guaranteeing top-tier results for your assays.Synonyms:

FABP are thought to play a role in the intracellular transport of long-chain fatty acids and their acyl-CoA esters. FABP2 is probably involved in triglyceride-rich lipoprotein synthesis. Binds saturated long-chain fatty acids with a high affinity, but binds with a lower affinity to unsaturated long- chain fatty acids. FABP2 may also help maintain energy homeostasis by functioning as a lipid sensor.Storage Conditions:
Store at 4°C for 6 months, at -20°C for 12 months. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles (Ships with gel ice, can store for up to 3 days in room temperature. Freeze upon receiving.)Other Gene Names:
