Temozolomide

  • Background:

Temozolomide is a membrane permeable DNA alkylating agent which acts as an anti-tumor and anti-angiogenic agent by alkylating the N-7 or O-6 positions of guanine residues which triggers tumor cell death (1-2). It has been used clinically as an anti-cancer agent (3) and has been found to induce autophagy in a variety of cell lines (4).
