Background
Cyclopamine is a hedgehog signaling pathway inhibitor that influences the balance between the active and inactive forms of the Smoothened protein (1). It is being investigated as a treatment agent in basal cell carcinoma, medulloblastoma and rhabdomyosarcoma (1, 2). Cyclopamine is also being investigated as a novel regulator of γ-secretase-mediated cleavage of APP (3).
