Background
NUP62 (Nucleoporin 62) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with NUP62 include Striatonigral Degeneration, Infantile and Familial Infantile Bilateral Striatal Necrosis. Among its related pathways are Transport of the SLBP independent Mature mRNA and Cell Cycle, Mitotic. The protein encoded by NUP62 is a member of the FG-repeat containing nucleoporins and is localized to the nuclear pore central plug. This protein associates with the importin alpha/beta complex which is involved in the import of proteins containing nuclear localization signals. Multiple transcript variants of NUP62 encode a single protein isoform.
