It mimics the activity of classical nuclear localization signals (cNLS) by competitively binding to importin ?, thereby inhibiting the interaction between cNLS-cargo proteins and importin ?. BIMAX2 is utilized in studies to investigate the role of RBBP4 in regulating nuclear import efficiency and cellular senescence.
