  VRC-01 is a human-derived IgG1 antibody that targets the envelope glycoprotein gp120 protein [gp120]. By partially mimicking the interaction between the CD4 receptor and the HIV-1 gp120 envelope glycoprotein, VRC-01 inhibits viral entry.
