• Bioactivity :

  Aftin-5 is an inducer of amyloid beta protein 42 (A?42) . It functions by modifying the ultrastructure of mitochondria, leading to an upregulation of A?42 and a downregulation of A?38 through a ?-secretase and ?-secretase-dependent mechanism. Aftin-5 exhibits mild cytotoxicity in SH-SY5Y, HT22, N2a, and N2a-A?PP695 cells, with IC50 values of 180, 194, 178, and 150 ?M, respectively.
