Description
Acyl-coenzyme A thioesterase 8 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ACOT8 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a peroxisomal thioesterase that appears to be involved more in the oxidation of fatty acids rather than in their formation. The encoded protein can bind to the human immunodeficiency virus-1 protein Nef, and mediate Nef-induced down-regulation of CD4 in T-cells. Multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene.

The recombinant Human ACOT8 (10ng) and cell lysates (40ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with anti-human ACOT8 antibody (1:1000) . FACS Description
Flow cytometry analysis of ACOT8 in CTLL-2 cell line, staining at 2-5ug for 1x10^6cells (red line) . The secondary antibody used goat anti-mouse IgG Alexa fluor 488 conjugate. Isotype control antibody was mouse IgG (black line) .
IF Description
ICC/IF analysis of ACOT8 in A549 cells. The cell was stained with ATGA0353 (1:100) . The secondary antibody (green) was used Alexa Fluor 488. DAPI was stained the cell nucleus (blue) .
