Description

Lymphoprep™ is a ready-to-use, sterile density gradient medium developed for the efficient isolation of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) including lymphocytes and monocytes. Based on a polysaccharide and sodium diatrizoate formulation, Lymphoprep™ provides a defined density gradient for the separation of mononuclear cells from whole blood samples using centrifugation. Its optimized formulation enables rapid and reliable cell recovery while maintaining cell integrity for downstream research applications. Lymphoprep™ is widely used in immunology, cell biology, flow cytometry, cell therapy research and molecular biology workflows requiring purified mononuclear cell populations.

Assay Principle

Lymphoprep™ separates blood components according to their buoyant density during centrifugation.

After centrifugation:

Plasma remains at the upper layer
Mononuclear cells accumulate at the plasma–medium interface
Granulocytes and erythrocytes migrate through the density barrier

This enables efficient recovery of enriched PBMC populations for further laboratory analysis.
