Lasalocid is a polyether antibiotic used for prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in poultry. It has a role as an ionophore, a coccidiostat and a bacterial metabolite. It is a monocarboxylic acid, a monohydroxybenzoic acid, a polyether antibiotic, a tertiary alcohol, a member of oxolanes, a secondary alcohol, a member of oxanes and a beta-hydroxy ketone. It is a conjugate acid of a lasalocid(1-).
