Description
Methylene Blue trihydrate (Basic Blue 9) is a dark green crystalline powder yielding deep blue aqueous solutions. As a research tool, it functions as a biological stain, a guanylyl cyclase inhibitor, and an agent to counteract cyanide poisoning and methemoglobinemia. In vitro studies also show it inhibits tau protein aggregation, relevant to neurodegenerative disease research.
