Lucidenic acid O is a terpenoid inhibitor of DNA polymerases. Its lactone form, lucidenic lactone, suppresses calf pol-α, rat pol-β, and HIV-1 reverse transcriptase with IC50 values of 42, 99, and 69 μM, respectively. This compound is used in biochemical research to study polymerase mechanisms and antiviral strategies.
