21-Deacetoxy deflazacort is a dehydrogenated derivative of the glucocorticoid deflazacort. As an inactive prodrug, it is rapidly metabolized in vivo to the active form, 21-desacetyldeflazacort, which exhibits anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties useful for research in immunology and inflammation models.
