(±) 11-HEDE is a racemic mixture of 11 (S) - and 11 (R) -HEDE, monohydroxy fatty acids produced from eicosadienoic acid by cyclooxygenase (COX) and in macrophages. This compound is used in research to study lipid mediator pathways, inflammation, and macrophage biology in both in vitro and in vivo experimental models.
