Description
Coronatine is a bacterial phytotoxin produced by Pseudomonas syringae that acts as a molecular mimic of jasmonic acid. It activates the COI1 receptor, suppressing salicylic acid-mediated plant defenses and facilitating bacterial entry through stomata. This tool compound is widely used in plant pathology research to study hormone crosstalk and pathogen virulence mechanisms in both in vitro and in vivo systems.
