MTEP is a highly potent and selective non-competitive mGluR5 antagonist (IC50 = 5 nM, Ki = 16 nM) . It demonstrates antidepressant and anxiolytic-like properties in preclinical models and is widely used in neurological research, including studies on Parkinson's disease, depression, and anxiety disorders.
