Description
Neospiramycin I is a spiramycin-derived macrolide antibiotic effective against various Gram-positive bacteria and some Gram-negative strains in vitro. It binds bacterial ribosomes and demonstrates in vivo efficacy, protecting mice from S. pneumoniae infection. This compound is a useful research tool for studying macrolide antibiotic mechanisms and resistance.
