13 (R) -HODE is the enantiomer of the 13 (S) -HODE formed by lipoxygenase and is instead attributed to COX metabolism in endothelial cells. It serves as a research tool for studying eicosanoid biology and acts as a weak inhibitor of platelet aggregation (IC50 = 2.7 μM against U-46619), relevant for in vitro vascular and thrombosis research.
