Background:
RuvB protein of Escherichia coli forms a complex with RuvA protein and the complex promotes branch migration of Holliday junction at the late stage of homologous recombination and recombination repair. RuvB is a DNA motor protein which possesses the ATPase activity, activated by DNA and RuvA protein. RuvB in the absence of ATP, it predominantly occurs in a monomer form. In the presence of ATP, it forms dimer and hexamer depending upon the concentration. With RuvA and Holliday junction., it forms a double hexamer.HS Code:
