This compound is a selective human melanocortin 3 (hMC3) receptor antagonist with an IC50 of 210 nM, demonstrating no significant activity at hMC4 or hMC5 receptors. It is a valuable research tool for investigating the distinct physiological roles of MC3R in energy homeostasis, immune modulation, and cardiovascular function in both in vitro and in vivo studies.
